What is error correction in QR codes?

Error correction allows QR codes to remain scannable even when partially damaged or obscured. There are four levels: L (7% recovery), M (15%), Q (25%), and H (30%). Can I generate QR codes for WiFi or vCard?

What is the maximum amount of text I can encode?

QR codes have limited capacity depending on error correction level and data type. For numeric data, a Version 40 QR code can hold up to 7,089 characters. For alphanumeric data, it is 4,296 characters. For binary data, it is 2,953 bytes.

Does color affect QR code scanning?

Yes. For reliable scanning, ensure there is strong contrast between the foreground and background colors. Dark modules on a light background scan best. Avoid using red backgrounds or light foreground colors, as many QR scanners have red LEDs that may not detect low-contrast codes.
